The Stanley Works Charitable Giving Program

The Stanley Works charitable giving program will support IRS certified 501(C)3 organizations that have a meaningful and positive impact on their communities. The program makes it a priority, but is not limited to, funding organizations in communities where we have facilities and where our employees live and work. Our support focuses on the following key areas:

  • Colleges, Universities and Scholarships,

  • Local Community Non-profit Organizations
    • healthcare
    • youth services
    • skills training & job development
    • mentoring and leadership development

  • Construction & Affordable Housing

  • Cultural Arts

  • Matching Gifts

  • United Way

  • Vocational/Technical Training (Professionals entering skilled trades)
    • youth
    • secondary & post-secondary vocational technical training
    • SkillsUSA VICA

Grant Application Procedures:

The Stanley Works will consider requests, starting at $1,000, that meet the above criteria. Product donations will be considered beginning with amounts of $100.00. A written proposal, sent via regular mail to the address below under "Where to Apply", is required. It should include the following information:

  1. Background information including the name and mission of the requesting organization and the name of the project.
  2. A narrative which includes following:

    - When the organization or program officially was started
    - Project goals and objectives
    - Needs the project seeks to meet
    - Relationship between the project and The Stanley Works
    - Anticipated results of the project
    - How results will be measured
    - List of other committed funding sources
    - List of Board of Director Members

  3. A project budget and anticipated completion date
  4. An appendix that contains other relevant information including proof of tax exempt status verifying 501(C)3.

Timing of Grant Awards:

Grant applications are accepted throughout the year. The Stanley Works will respond within 45-60 days of receipt of the request by written notification as to whether the grant has been approved or denied.
